Listen To: ARIZONA

A band started by three NJ natives who go under the moniker ARIZONA are buzzing with their latest track ‘Where I Wanna Be‘. With hints of M83, although it’s hard to pin the band down, they’ve clocked hundreds of thousands of Soundcloud streams. Having just signed with Atlantic Records, the band spends most of their time either on the road creating in a mobile recording studio they built in an old Toyota. The three piece indie-alt act is back in their NJ hometown working on the 2016 upcoming release.

Nearly thousands of bands will migrate to NYC in October where they will perform on numerous stages at CMJ Music Festival, competing for attention . They’ve booked many shows as possible hoping to gain new fans and that blogs will take notice.

I took notice of the Dallas indie rock band, Valise. The indie quartet performed alongside Death Cab for Cutie, Local Natives, Family of the Year, and Copeland and will join Macy Gray as direct support for her upcoming headlining US tour.

Nashville based pop artist Lauren Winans has released the video for the new song “Sexy Goodbye” ft. Ice Cold Jay. Lauren says “As girls, getting our hearts broken, we think it’s the end of the world or there is something wrong with us. You are still sexy and strong and you will get through it.”

With all the doom & gloom, it’s once again time to bring the sexy back & Lauren Winans could be the one to fill that void.

I’ve become a fan of the Brisbane trio Avaberée (aye-va-ber-ee). The new single “Can’t Get You Off My Mind” is a solemn & enigmatic classic that has Enya-esque melody. The song was crafted in Los Angeles with upcoming producer Tommy English (Ladyhawke, Borns) which comes off the forth coming EP, ‘In your arms I found my secrets’. Avaberée has toured the east coast of Australia supporting Matt Corby, Emma Louise, Will and The People, The Trouble With Templeton and Stu Larson. Dave Ruby Howe, Triple J says “This is really elegant and nodding pop music. The approach has obvious charm but it’s adorned simply enough to really make an impact with each listen.”

Nashville based Heather Bond’s latest track So Long impresses. We call this indie piano pop that will put you in melancholy state for weeks. She was featured on American Songwriter, Songwriting Magazine, Nashville Scene and on Nashville’s independent radio station “Lightning 100.” Her track, “Beside Me,” was featured in a television commercial, which aired nationally in Germany.

UK folk-pop band, Flight Brigade, have almost completed their debut album, co-produced by Gavin Monaghan (The Editors, Kings of Leon, Robert Plant) and mixed by Donald Clark (The Knife, Noah & The Whale, Muse) at Artillery Studios. The album is due for release in early Autumn. Flight Brigade have released the official music video for their upcoming single ‘Housefire’ which is set in the Welsh mountains and follows the story of a girl fleeing the haunting influence of her past. They have been confirmed for Bestival and Glastonbury Festival. Housefire has a haunting atmospheric vibe with a singable anthem.

Asbury Park, NJ rockers Deal Casino released a new song and video “Downtown”, the third single off their Heck EP. The band previously released “Bang Bang Bang” and “Fortyfive”.  The Aquarian called the EP “focused and slathered with pinpoint continuity – Heck is one “heck” of a calling card.” OnStage Magazine notes, “Over the past two months, the buzz surrounding New Jersey’s Deal Casino has grown into a low roar. Catchy and explosive and yeah, you do need to hear them in 2015.” Instantly becoming a staple of the music scene, the band played a summer long residency at The Saint, put out three EP’s with producer Jon Leidersdorff and won three Asbury Music Awards for Best Pop/Rock Band, Best Vocalist, and Best Live Performances.

Liv Margaret has released her latest single “Spinning”. It’s her latest creative collaboration in Nashville, inspired by Patsy Cline, Colbie Caillat, Adele and even Michael Buble`, her influences are eclectic as her sound. A New Hampshire native, Liv currently resides in Nashville, TN. Skope says “Hand claps, a stomping rhythm, and an infectious hook, this is the kind of song designed to hook itself into the mind. And it is quite catchy indeed.

Deal Casino is a 4 piece indie act from NJ. The members formed dropping out of school and moving to the rock n’ roll mecca Asbury Park. Instantly becoming a staple of the music scene, the band played a summer long residency at The Saint, put out three EP’s with producer Jon Leidersdorff and won three Asbury Music Awards for Best Pop/Rock Band, Best Vocalist, and Best Live Performances. The band has no plans to slow down as a relentless performing schedule, three music videos and several more EP’s are planned. The band has been featured in Onstage Mag & NJ.com. Deal Casino is an artist to watch.

Indie pop singer-songwriter Boh Doran released a new video for the track Electric Love. Influenced by the classic soul and rock writers of the 60s and 70s and laced with a blend of retro groove and modern indie pop production, Boh explores the deeper and sometimes darker side of the human heart. The collaboration with producer-writers Ethan Mentzer (The Click 5) and Jon Kaplan (New Politics, Ingrid Michaelson, A Great Big World) is set for an early 2015 release. She has a residency at Ham and Eggs in LA and has received praise from Radar Online, Glamour Magazine, Blackbook Magazine, Huffington Post, Knox Road Blog among others. Boh Doran is an artist to watch.
