Listen To: New Atlas

Young Hearts by New Atlas caught my fancy. Lead by Liverpool based artist Owen O’Hagan the track is “Ridiculously promising” as noted by BBC Across the Line.

Although having gone through some line-up changes, the indie pop singer-songwriter is planning on taking his new band on the road with dates in the UK and Ireland.

Having been named BBC Northern Ireland’s hottest new acts by Radio One and winning critics over, it’s very likely we’ll be hearing more from New Atlas.

Listen To: Adam Jensen

Boston indie pop kid Adam Jensen is doing quite well with his latest single Sandcastles. The single comes off his upcoming EP and shot up the Spotify Top 50 US Viral chart landing at #25, while making a mark on popular trendsetters sites including YouTube EDM 15 list, Mr.SuicideSheep, Sirius XM AND The Chainsmokers ‘Nice Hair’ Playlist!

Jensen, who got caught up in illegal gambling ring made an escape to LA to record music, but found himself greeted by the police when he arrived home in Boston. Influenced by The Beatles, Jensen notes, “Musically, my goal is to keep growing as an artist – never getting stuck in one place.”

Listen To: Ninet Tayeb

Karen O reincarneted Ninet Tayeb is rocking it out with her latest video Superstar which was filmed in NYC. She began her journey after winning Israeli Idol which propelled her to overnight fame.

Now with four albums under her belt, the female rocker has her eyes on the U.S. And yes, the American music charts needs variety outside from Drake and Adele.

Known for her fierce determination, Ninet will travel to the states where she’ll be finishing up a new album. She had been touring with Porcupine Tree’s Steven Wilson with stops at Royal Albert Hall in London and The Beacon Theater in New York, while picking up some press mentions from the likes ofNPR and The Brooklyn Vegan after her SXSW performance.

Upcoming plans includes a fall tour and a new album.  Check out the video below.

Listen To: Secret Weapons

Secret Weapons who I wrote about last year found themselves on tour this month across the U.S withWeezer, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, and wrapping up with a date on Lollapalooza.

The NYC duo which consists of Gerry Lange and Dan E have built momentum since they day they met in math class. Influenced by the likes of Tears for Fears, Cyndi Lauper, and Hall & Oates, the Brooklyn born indie act heated up the blogosphere and the Spotify charts with their debut radio-ready single Something New.

Now with a high profile tour on the way, these boys will have a chance at proving themselves to a larger audience with performance and song. The audience tonight is already convinced who bought tickets to their sold-out one-night-only headlining show at the Bowery Ballroom tonight. Check out my favorite track Perfect World.

Listen To: Braeves

Check out the new single Bitter Sea by Braeves. It’s charming-intelligent indie rock at its finest.

The trio made a big move from NYC to Los Angeles creating some noise. The band recorded the single with Raymond Richards producer of Gorilla Manor for Local Natives with Dave Trumfio(Wilco, Built to Spill) mixing.  Bitter Sea is popping up on a several playlists and early press includes a feature from Impose Magazine

Listen To: Major Crush

The popular charts have turned a blind eye to guitar-driven rock bands lately, but leave it to New Yorkers Major Crush rockers to shake things up.

Brothers Kenny & Tommy started the band while skateboarding and listening to hair metal.  Learning the entire Van Halen catalog on guitar at 16, Kenny has built a reputation as the new guitar hero of rock music.

Having built a solid underground following, their latest track You Ain’t A Saint draws comparisons from Def Leppard to Fall Out Boy and 1975, and they performed the popular three day festivalRocklahoma several times

The new full length Trophy Kids was produced by Stacy O’Dell and mixed by Kato Khandwala (The Pretty Reckless, Paramore), and will be released on July 29th.  For those about to rock, we salute you!

Listen To: Glass Caves

I’m impressed with indie rock outfit Glass Caves who have established themselves as a UK dedicated touring act.

Having spent 2015 packing out venues the band self funded their debut album Alive which madeRecord Store Day’s Top 40 on week of release.

The band has won over the likes of Clash Music, The Music Ninja Blog, and GQ Music. Check out the track Alive which made Spotify’s UK  Viral Chart.

Listen To: Smith & Thell

Smith & Thell are buzzing with their latest single Statue. Now, after signing a publishing deal withSonyATV, the Stockholm folk pop duo have been courted by the music industry titans.

Quickly making a splash on the scene, the duo grabbed the 2015 Illustrious Denniz Pop AwardsNew Artist of the Year, as Tove Lo won the same word in 2014. Their debut single Statue which was released in Scandinavia has already surpassed over 1 million Spotify streams.

Following in the footsteps of The Lumineers and Mumford & Sons this folk act is set to take off. There is one space left for another “Ho Hey” and now it’s occupied.

Listen To: Tracy Irve

Brother and sister duo Tracy Irve are back with a new haunting track To Mind. Written over year ago, the track went through variations, but finally was stripped down to the core. Still in their infancy stage, the Gothenburg indie act are quickly finding a place in the indie market.

The last track Town made the Swedish iTunes Chart.  Still lurking in the shadows and with no big accolades yet,  I see Tracy Irve breaking out this year.

Listen To: Shane

Shane is creating a buzz with his latest Insecure. The 24 year old Los Angeles based pop artist released a teaser video which clocked over a million views after he posted it to Facebook winning over the likes of BuzzFeed’s Ashly Perez.

The song comes off his latest EP Sad which he co-produced with Australian producer Craig Williams. The wonder kid who works at Urban Outfitters in Burbank also choreographed, casted, co-directed and edited the eye candy video.
