Liv Margaret has released her latest single “Spinning”. It’s her latest creative collaboration in Nashville, inspired by Patsy Cline, Colbie Caillat, Adele and even Michael Buble`, her influences are eclectic as her sound. A New Hampshire native, Liv currently resides in Nashville, TN. Skope says “Hand claps, a stomping rhythm, and an infectious hook, this is the kind of song designed to hook itself into the mind. And it is quite catchy indeed.
Cheat Codes is an electro hip-pop trio from Los Angeles. The new house track “Adventure” was produced by the up & coming DJ Evan Gartner, and hit #2 on the Hype Machine twitter charts, climbing the overall charts sitting at #33. The track has already been featured by several blogs including Indie Shuffle & Waxhole pushing the song to 20,000 SoundCloud plays in just a few days. Stoney Roads says this “Infused with some tropical and electronic elements, the myriad of genres range all over the map. Good vibes and sunny days, Cheat Codes latest will make you want to have an “Adventure.”
Melbourne indie pop act Crepes is back with a new EP “Cold Summers”. The bands last 2014 EP ‘Ain’t Horrible’ was praised charting in the Hype Machine’s Top 10, as well as landing a spot in BIRP’s ‘Best of 2014′ compilation. The new year saw ‘Stages of Fear’ attract international radio-play (sitting among AirIt’s weekly top 10 ‘Most Ordered for Airplay’ chart, as well as landing spot rotation on Triple J). The new title track ‘Cold Summers‘ could be the summer indie anthem.
Nick D’ & the Believers emerged on the Ohio music scene in August of 2013 with the release of their “Throwing Stones EP”. The band was quickly recognized by critics from Stereogum and Paste who called the band “brilliant,” “consistently mesmerizing,” and “one of the fiercest live acts.” They signed a deal with Secret Road in LA for licensing and have song placements ABC’s Pretty little liars. They have received love from blogs including The Wild Honey Pie, Most Def, & Nylon. The band released their third EP, ‘Wanted’ in February.
Indie rock band, Redlands, has released their second single ‘Adventurer‘ which comes off the bands sophomore EP, that has a July release. They previously released Hollow Bodies. The EP was co-written with Sean and Alex Silverman of This Century and recorded with producer, Matt Malpass (Copeland, Lydia, Relient K, Manchester Orchestra). The band’s first release, The Lonewolf EP, was recorded in North Hollywood with renowned producer Matt Grabe (The Maine, Katelyn Tarver, This Providence).
Deal Casino is a 4 piece indie act from NJ. The members formed dropping out of school and moving to the rock n’ roll mecca Asbury Park. Instantly becoming a staple of the music scene, the band played a summer long residency at The Saint, put out three EP’s with producer Jon Leidersdorff and won three Asbury Music Awards for Best Pop/Rock Band, Best Vocalist, and Best Live Performances. The band has no plans to slow down as a relentless performing schedule, three music videos and several more EP’s are planned. The band has been featured in Onstage Mag & NJ.com. Singer-songwriter and keyboardist Jacque Ryal, better known as Ryal, is releasing her debut EP this spring. She just released her new single Lonely Love which was was inspired by the Arctic Monkeys’ 2013 album, AM and features harmony vocals by White Prism’s Johanna Cranitch, who has worked with The Cranberries and The Cardigans’ Nina Persson. Ryal spent a decade laying the groundwork for her emergence as a solo artist as the charismatic front person and – in the words of Time Out NY – “angelic-voice keyboardist’ for the mixed gender indie pop outfit Strip Darling, a popular NYC mainstay which performed at numerous hotspots (Mercury Lounge, Trash Bar, CBGB’s and the prestigious Highline Ballroom) and released the album Mend in 2012.
Maudlin Strangers, who have become a favorite of mine, will hit the road. The tour begins June 18th in Santa Ana CA, which takes the band all the way up to Seattle and back, wrapping up in their hometown of Los Angeles on July 1 @ The Echo. “Hays and his songs can join the world of electro-pop artists who quickly go from mixtape CDs to sold-out rooms.” –BuzzBandsLA. Stockholm-based indie four-piece, Chirping, released the new track A Warning of Sorts which be be available on April 20th. They sound a bit like The Vaccines, The Drums, The Strokes and have been compared to the likes of The 1975 and Bastille. Indie Shuffle says “A recipe for how to craft a great indie pop song”. Chirping have previously had material aired on both BBC Radio 2 and Absolute Radio, and are planning a UK tour for later this year. Dates and venues of which are yet to be confirmed including a variety of UK and Swedish festivals.
Indie pop singer-songwriter Boh Doran released a new video for the track Electric Love. Influenced by the classic soul and rock writers of the 60s and 70s and laced with a blend of retro groove and modern indie pop production, Boh explores the deeper and sometimes darker side of the human heart. The collaboration with producer-writers Ethan Mentzer (The Click 5) and Jon Kaplan (New Politics, Ingrid Michaelson, A Great Big World) is set for an early 2015 release. She has a residency at Ham and Eggs in LA and has received praise from Radar Online, Glamour Magazine, Blackbook Magazine, Huffington Post, Knox Road Blog among others.
